What this site is for

The hospital already publishes procedure pages on nose surgery, and those pages answer the question they were written for: what one operation is, who it suits, and what recovery involves. What was missing is the step before that. A patient who dislikes their nose does not usually arrive with the name of an operation; they arrive with a complaint, and the useful work is deciding which region of the nose holds it and which of the routes can reach that region. That translation is what this site does, and it does it for the area as a whole rather than for one operation.

How it is written

Every concern is answered twice, once by what can be done without an operation and once by what an operation can reach, and neither answer is presented as the default. The organising idea is stated on the home page and honoured everywhere else: the nose is built from bone, cartilage and a skin envelope, the airway runs through the same structures, and the thickness of the envelope sets the ceiling on how much of a framework change is likely to show. Where a route cannot reach the region holding a complaint, the text says so in the same paragraph that describes what the route can do.

What it will not do

It will not name brands of drugs, products or devices: everything is described by class. It will not quote prices, because cost depends on the plan and the plan depends on an assessment. It will not publish dosages, will not describe operations step by step, and will not invent credentials, awards or case volumes for any clinician. No result is promised, no nose is described as perfect afterwards, and no route is described as risk-free.

Medical review

The content is reviewed by Tongchun Mao, MD, Deputy Director and Head of Aesthetic Surgery at Chongqing West District Hospital, and is dated on every page. It is patient education, not medical advice: it does not describe your case, and it does not replace an assessment by a qualified clinician who has examined your nose inside and out.
